Make Your Feet Softer for Summer
Summer is here! The Soltice makes it official. Summer is the time when feet get to come out into the open. Are your feet ready for those cute summer sandals that have been sitting in your closet all winter just waiting to get out? Maybe you seen a cute pair in a store or online shop this week that you would love to have? Take a good look at your feet. Are they ready for sandals? If they aren’t soft and pretty, here is a sure fire way to soften your feet and give yourself a well deserved pedicure.
Plan an evening for yourself with a good book or movie and get started on your way to summer ready feet! To plan ahead, be sure to have a foot bath, a lotion with salicylic acid, a dry towel, moisturizing lotion and a pair of white cotton socks ready to go. The first step is simple. Relax and soak your feet in a bath of warm water with mild soap for at least twenty minutes. After the initial soak, dry your feet and apply the lotion with salicylic acid, rubbing it into your skin. Use your towel to rest your feet on while the lotion does its work. Apply a moisturizing lotion of your choice to your feet and put your socks on for the night.
For the second night of the process to softer summer feet, you may want to use a pumice stone to exfoliate the skin. Again, soak your feet and repeat the same process as on the first evening. This is recommended for seven nights but you may reach your goal before then and attain the softness you desire.
When you are at the end point of the exfoliating process, it’s time to choose a beautiful color for your nails. To save time choose a polish that either is advertised as including a base and top coat or make sure you do have a base coat and a top coat on hand to apply before and after the polish. This will extend the beauty of your pedicure. Most brands of nail polish have now eliminated harmful ingredients from years past. Just choose your favorite color and brand and have fun. Your feet will be ready for those cute summer sandals in no time! Enjoy the summer with feet that glow and shimmer with “polish”!
Don’t forget your sunscreen, even on your feet!!
Comments Off on Cute Summer Sandals (2013 Trends)
Summer is finally here! Time to get your feet out of those boots and covered shoes and show your toes! Along with a cute pair of strappy sandals, don’t forget to moisturize your feet and legs and apply a great shade of nail polish to complement your sandals. The trends for 2013 are out and here they are! Comfort and versatility are key, but for a special occasion the high heels come out. High heels are always in style but for summer the trend is “comfort”.
Flat sandals that are studded or bejeweled are in this season, as well as gladiator sandals and espadrilles. Gladiator sandals include designs that have elastic ankle wraps or buckle closures. I love the elastic straps as they are so easy to put on and take off and provide more comfort. These sandals can be worn with almost anything including skinny or capri length jeans. As for flat sandals, they are available in many designs including thong-type designs reminiscent of the 70’s, or with buckled straps and with embellishments such as beads and faux jewels.
Both flat sandals and gladiator’s come in metallic leathers which draw attention to your feet and your pretty polished toes. Great with a short skirt or maxi dress! Last but not least, espadrilles are always a favorite as they are so comfortable and come in every color and design and can be worn with almost everything. Espadrilles are a great accessory to wear with a maxi dress or a cute sundress to the beach or a casual evening out.
So, start looking through your closet to see what you may have and hit the shops to see the new trends and choose a color and style to complement an existing outfit, something new or an entire wardrobe! Enjoy the comfort of your summer sandals……..it will not last long enough!
Comments Off on Natural Remedies from a Natural Skin Care Company!!
Natural Remedies You Might Not Have Thought Of
When I was perusing the internet yesterday I came across an article from IVillage.com that I quite enjoyed. It talked about several different natural remedies for healing and taking care of your health, and some of them were already known to me, others were not.
Here are two that intrigued me, because I already understood the value of them in my own life, but had never really thought of them as a Natural Remedy.
“Heal injuries with music A review of 14 studies found that patients who listened to one hour of soothing music daily recovered from injuries more quickly. They also required 25 percent fewer painkillers. The reason: Music lowers your production of damaging stress hormones, plus it relaxes arteries, improving the flow of nutrient-rich blood to injured tissues. “Music touches, and heals, almost every cell in the body,” says Mitchell L. Gaynor, M.D., director of Gaynor Integrative Oncology in New York. “It’s my first pick when I’m feeling under the weather.”
Kill viruses with honey Unpasteurized honey is packed with natural antibiotics and healing enzymes, and nibbling it when you’re ill can cut three days off your sickness, say University of Illinois researchers. It also kills the bugs that cause sinus infections and other cold complications,” says Mark Moyad, M.D., director of preventive medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center. “I take two teaspoons daily when I’m sick, and it soothes my sore throat, reduces coughing and speeds my recovery — something over-the-counter cold meds never did.”
As a child growing up, my mother and her mother had all types of folk remedies. She used cold potatoes on the forehead to draw out a fever. Honey and lemon in green tea for sore throats. Gargling with warm water, mixed with salt and vinegar was another remedy for killing cold germs. And of course there is that old standby, homemade chicken soup for a bad cold.
Hope this makes you feel better!!

One of the best ways to keep your skin looking soft and supple is to exfoliate. There are several methods that range from lasers to those handheld electronic brushes you can use at home. Exfoliating your skin has proven benefits, but any method of exfoliation carries risks. Pulling at your skin, or improper use of over the counter exfoliates can permanently damage your skin.
That is why at Bonne Foi, we carefully formulated our Two Layer Night Serum with Lactic Acid, kept it at a low dose, and advise you to use it each and every night. While you sleep, our night serum gently removes dead skin and leaves your skin feeling soft and ready for the rest of our skin care regimen .
Bonne Foi Two Layers Night Serum contains a low dosage of lactic acid which is gentle, yet very effective for its exfoliation of dead skin cells. And with our product, you don’t need to take time out of your day for spa treatments.
