Comments Off on Healthy Thanksgiving Appetizers !
On Thanksgiving, we eat too much, and we eat things we normally wouldn’t. So this year, here at Bonne-Foi, we went out to look for an appetizer that would be tasty, but not too fattening and also satisfying. I must confess, you can follow this recipe, or you can take a short cut and purchase a pre-made Olive Tapenade..
Combine all ingredients in a food processor; pulse 10 times or until olives are finely chopped.Note: Domenica Marchetti/Krista,
We got this recipe from Cooking Light.com

Comments Off on Why Is Night Time Skin Care Important?
When we go to sleep at night, our bodies are still working for us. Our minds sort out the issues of the day in our dreams. Our respiratory system keeps our breathing regular and our hearts keep pumping, moving blood through our arteries.
This is a prime time to take care of our skin, to help it be stronger for the new day that awaits. To that end, Bonne Foi has products formulated especially for the night time. Our Two Layers Night Serum, works in harmony with your body’s natural processes. The lactic acid in the Two Layers Night Serum intensifies your skin’s acidity, helping to exfoliate dead skin cells, while the Serum’s concentrated seaweed polysaccharid extract provides rejuvenating nourishment. As an added bonus, this special formulation can help lighten age spots and smooth out uneven skin tones.
Our night cream is also formulated to work while you are sleeping. It is richer than our Day Cream, containing Shea Butter, our unique Seaweed Extracts and other rich ingredients that will help your skin to feel smoother and more supple when you wake up in the morning to face a new day.
Even here in Southern California the weather is colder and drier in winter than in the summer time, so on those days when it is particularly cold and dry, it could be a good idea to use the night cream even during daylight hours. We only get one set of skin and it is important to take care of it. Not to just look younger, but also to protect ourselves from the damage that pollutants and sun can cause us.

Fall is here and soon the weather will begin to cool down. Although our change in seasons is not as colorful or cool as it is in other parts of the county, it is still fun to put the shorts and flowy dresses in the back of the closet and bring out the fall and winter clothes.
Here are a couple of Fall outfits from Glamour magazine that we just love;

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” ― Maya Angelou
Life, no matter where we live, can leave us at times overly stressed, it’s just a fact. And when we get stressed the side effects are lost sleep, poor eating habits and often a lack of exercise. All of which will show on our face, causing us to age faster than we would like.
It is important that we recognize when stress is getting the better of us. To stop, breathe, and take a moment to eliminate things from our life where we can, to commit to eating properly and perhaps even to meditate.Life and the experiences we go through make us who we are. It is how we handle the tough times that teaches us what is truly something to fret over, or when it’s something we should dismiss and walk away from. Sometimes it’s going through the tough times that teach us to be more compassionate and caring for others who are struggling.
So, when life gets hard, stop for a moment take time out to care of yourself, take a long soak in Epsom salts and Lavender and use your day time Bonne Foi facial products. Then have a nutritiousmeal filled with colorful veggies. Then read a good book and get ready to face the world once again. .

Summer time is over, despite the heat wave we have experienced here in Orange County, you can still smell a whiff of autumn in the air first thing in the morning. Just because the weather will eventually become cooler and crisper don’t stop using your sunscreen. And remember that the cooler air will also be drier, and that means keeping your skin hydrated is even more important than it was during the summer.
Drink plenty of water, and please, only use soap on your body, never on your face. Soap is very drying and can cause damage to the delicate skin on your face. Bonne Foi has a great Facial Cleanser that will clean your face, but is very gentle on your skin. And using our Night Time products to gently exfoliate while you sleep will help your skin stay soft and smooth.
Once every couple of weeks, mix up a concoction of either coconut oil and granulated sugar, or olive oil and sugar and give your body a soothing scrub down. This will help to exfoliate your skin, while leaving a thin film of oil that will keep you feeling silky all over.
For the cooler weather, it I also good to switch to a heavier, creamier skin moisturizer to protect your skin from the dryin effects of winter wind and cold. The thicker, more oily cream creates a barrier that will keep water in, and the cold dry air away from your skin. And don’t forget your lip balm, or gloss. Nothing makes you look less healthy and vibrant than dry, cracked lips.
Use all of our luxurious Bonne Foi skin care products to keep your face and neck looking fresh, dewey and healthy, and don’t forget to eat plenty of fruits, veggies and fish!!!

Comments Off on Fresh and Youthful Skin
How to keep your skin looking fresh and youthful? The best thing you can do is use our Bonne Foi product line. In conjunction with that it is important to spend as little time in the sun as possible. You will want to be outside enough to keep your levels of Vitamin D up, of course, but you need to wear sunscreen and if I can talk you into it, a hat as well.
It is also important to learn how to handle stress. Stress and alchohol as well as cigarette smoke are really hard on our skin. Don’t forget to eat your fruits and veggies because we know for certain they help you insides stay fresh and the colors of the veggies can help your complexion look rosy as well. But just know that no matter how hard we try, genetics and the aging process will have an effect on our skin. We know that for women in particular, our Hormone levels change as we age; we lose Estrogen, our skin tone changes. Those of us who had oily skin growing up may start to experience patches of dry skin. Our pores become larger and wrinkles begin to form and deepen with each day.
You can’t stop all the signs of aging, or turn back the clock. But there is hope. All of our Bonne Foi products have been developed based upon award-winning research and use natural ingredients to produce a more youthful-looking skin texture. We incorporate the use of seaweed, an organic source of vitamins, minerals, omega-3 , omega-6 and anti-oxidants into our products. Based upon Nobel Prize winning research we know these nutrients are key ingredients to repairing and rebuilding cell structure. In turn that helps our skin stay beautiful.
So to recap eating green leafy vegetables and taking natural, plant-based supplements which are high in beta carotene and vitamin C, as well as drinking plenty of water and green tea, are known to help keep skin and hair in top shape. Use your sunscreen, and use your Bonne Foi.

Comments Off on The Dangers of Tanning
Sunscreen is a topic we have posted about several times, so I think you get the point that we think it is very important you protect your skin before you head outside. But today I read some disturbing news about tanning beds. Do you remember when tanning beds were considered a status symbol? That is not the case anymore. Apparently now there are states moving to outlaw them. Studies have shown they are just as dangerous to our skin as sitting in the sun for hours. UV rays from any source can cause skin cancer and we have to be careful how we treat our skin.
Yes, it feels lovely to bask in the warmth of the sun, and yes, we look a little better with a slight tan on our skin, but, if you have ever seen someone suffer from skin cancer. You will quickly change your opinion. I have known people who, as a result of sun damage, have had to undergo painful surgery, skin grafting and even radiation treatments.
Another myth we would like to dispel is the belief that if you don’t get an actual sunburn there is no damage to our skin. The truth is that all the little things add up. Each hour your skin is exposed to the sun’s rays, or to the light in a tanning bed causes underlying skin damage. That’s why the left side is more afflicted in people who drive a lot .the forearms and hands are exposed to more sun when driving as well.
So please, take precaution to cover up. Get used to the pale look and revel in your smooth, wrinkle free skin instead of looking for that warm color of a tan. No matter how you achieve that tanned look, it is going to be harmful.
